Cacophonous Revival is proud to present Aftermath, the first full-length collaboration from Philadelphia based trio Luna Honey and legendary guitarist Norman Westberg (Swans). Aftermath paints a haunted and bleak soundscape where these two disparate forces congregate and create movements of music that at times sounds like a portal to dark places and at others, a soaring document of hope. Begun two months after the death of lyricist Maura Pond's mother, Aftermath is divided into four lyrical vignettes on grief and loss. The four tracks here combine drone infected atmospheres coupled with haunting vocals to create one of the more unique collaborations of the year
Luna Honey is an experimental trio from Philadelphia consisting of principal songwriter Maura Pond, guitarist and engineer Benjamin Schurr, and bassist Levi Flack. Recording primarily at home, the band finds creative freedom in the studio, often trading instruments and layering in unusual sound sources such as pitch-shifted kazoos, layered harmonicas, marxophone, prepared piano, scrapyard finds, and unloved vintage drum machines.
Best known for his work with the seminal outfit SWANS, Norman Westberg's output beyond that group is sprawling and restless. His name recurs and ripples through many interconnected micro-histories surrounding New York City's music and art scenes. From appearances in film works associated with the Cinema Of Transgression, through to his participation in bands such as The Heroine Sheiks and Five Dollar Priest, Westberg's name is woven deeply into the fabric of New York over the past three decades.

Our aims and goals will be to not be constrained by genre or geography but to have a unifying theme. One of passion,
excitement and experimentation in music. We want to release styles as divergent in genre as avant garde, world music, experimental, jazz, noise, metal, hip hop, punk, classical, etc....more
As usual, Kirby manipulates various interwar records to fit a cavalcade of emotional states: blissful (B1, E8), tragic (D2, D5), frantic (E1, E6), and just plain horrifying (F3, G1, H1, K1). gjoe52
